FAQs

Common Questions and Answers

Personal Injury

What do I do after an accident or injury?
In the event of an accident, your top priority should be seeking medical attention. If you're not immediately taken to the emergency room, it's crucial to document the accident scene with photos or videos and gather witness contact information. Remember, anything you say post-accident can impact a potential claim or lawsuit. If you suspect fault on someone else's part, it's wise to consult with an attorney to discuss your options.
What are the types of compensation that personal injury victims are entitled to?

Those with personal injury may be entitled to compensation for the following:

  • Earning capacity loss
  • Pain and suffering
  • Medical bills
  • Property damage
  • Wage and income loss
  • Loss of enjoyment of life
  • Punitive damages
What Is the personal injury legal process?

The personal injury legal process is a thorough three-step journey.

Step 1: In the initial stage, our dedicated attorney will meticulously gather evidence, including police reports, witness statements, photos, and medical records and bills. Our goal is to secure the maximum compensation for your case. Should the insurance company fail to offer an appropriate amount, we will progress to the next step.

Step 2: The second stage involves litigation. Here, we will conduct thorough investigations, take depositions, and enlist experts to support your case. Throughout this stage, we will continue pursuing the maximum compensation for you. If the insurance company still does not offer a fair amount, we will proceed to the final step.

Step 3: The third and final stage is trial. Your case will be skillfully presented to a jury, who will ensure that you receive the compensation you deserve.

How much is my personal injury case worth?

The compensation for your injuries will be determined based on the specific details of your case after a thorough investigation. While personal injury attorneys can provide estimates based on similar cases, it's important to note that any estimate you receive will likely be broad and conditional.

Additionally, the amount you can collect may be influenced by factors such as the insurance coverage of at-fault parties, their assets, and your own insurance.

Criminal Defense

What happens after a person is arrested?

When a person is arrested for a crime, they are taken to the police station and "booked." This process involves collecting personal, historical, and biographical information to check for any warrants or criminal history. This information is crucial in determining whether the individual can be released from custody or if they need to pay bail. Depending on the jurisdiction, the individual may have the right to have their detention reviewed by a judicial official if the authorities plan to detain them.

Does a person have to speak to the police after they have been arrested?
No, the US constitution, as well as the Federal and State laws, do not require an individual who has been arrested to speak to the authorities, with the exception of providing basic information about one’s identity. The decision of whether or not to speak to the police is a very important one and it should be evaluated with your attorney as soon as possible.
Can I win my DUI or DWI case?

A: Depending on the circumstances, whether you made a mistake by driving under the influence or have been wrongly accused of a crime, you require the support of a committed DUI defense attorney with extensive knowledge of the legal system and a proven track record in defending clients in court and DMV hearings. Whether your aim is to prove your innocence or minimize the consequences of an error, you need an attorney who will passionately advocate for your rights.

How does bail work?

Paying bail allows you to leave jail while awaiting court dates. By paying bail, you promise to appear in court and guarantee that promise with money or property. Your attorney can help ensure that you can obtain bail and that it is set at the lowest possible amount. After the disposition of your case, regardless of the outcome, you will receive your money or property back as long as you appear at all of your court dates. If you fail to appear, you forfeit the bail.
